Body
Mỗi câu mô tả xu hướng phải có: chủ ngữ đúng (VD: "The amount of time spent watching television" / "Time spent on the internet") + động từ xu hướng (rose, fell, declined) + số liệu mốc đầu và mốc cuối
Dùng đúng đơn vị "hours per week" và cấu trúc "from X to Y", "by [year]"
Không dùng ý kiến cá nhân ("I think", "in my opinion")
The graph illustrates changes in the average number of hours per week that people in the UK spent on five leisure activities — watching television, using the internet, reading, going to the cinema, and playing sport — over a 25-year period from 1995 to 2020.
Overall, only two activities, using the internet and playing sport, showed a continuous increase, with the internet recording by far the larger rise. The other three activities — television, reading, and cinema — all declined, or fell after an early peak.
In 1995, television was the most popular activity, with people spending 18 hours per week watching it, far more than the other four activities combined. It continued to rise slightly, reaching a peak of 20 hours in 2005, before falling steadily to 12 hours by 2020. Reading followed a similar downward pattern, decreasing gradually from 6 hours to just 3 hours over the period, while time spent at the cinema fell slightly from 4 hours to 2 hours, remaining the least popular activity throughout.
By contrast, time spent on the internet rose consistently and dramatically, climbing from just 1 hour in 1995 to 22 hours in 2020, the largest change of any activity. It surpassed television at some point between 2010 and 2015 to become the leading activity. Time spent playing sport also increased, though far more modestly, rising from 5 hours in 1995 to 9 hours in 2020.
