The pie charts show how men and women travelled to work in Millbrook in 2023, using five different types of transport.
Overall, car was the most popular method of transport for both men and women, although a higher proportion of men used it. Public bus and walking, on the other hand, were both more common among women than men.
Car accounted for the largest share of transport for both groups, but the figure was higher for men at fifty percent, compared with thirty-five percent for women. Cycling followed a similar pattern: it made up fifteen percent of men's transport but just seven percent of women's, meaning men were more than twice as likely to cycle to work.
By contrast, public bus was more common among women, accounting for twenty-eight percent of their transport compared with twenty percent for men. Walking showed an even bigger difference, with women twice as likely to walk to work as men, at twenty percent compared with ten percent. Working from home was also more common among women, making up ten percent of their transport compared with just five percent for men, although it remained the least popular option for both groups.
