The bar chart shows the percentage of adults in Greenfield who took part in three types of physical activity in 2010 and 2023, while the table shows the average number of hours men and women spent on each activity per week in 2023. Overall, gym attendance increased the most and became the most popular activity by 2023, surpassing team sports, which was the only activity to decline; in terms of time spent, men spent longer than women on gym and team sports, whereas women spent slightly more time on running. In 2010, team sports was the most popular activity, at twenty-five percent, followed by gym at fifteen percent and running at just ten percent. By 2023, this pattern had changed considerably: gym participation more than doubled to thirty-five percent, and running participation tripled to thirty percent, while team sports fell slightly to twenty percent, making it the least popular of the three activities. Turning to the table, men spent an average of 3.5 hours a week on gym and 2.0 hours on team sports, both more than women, who spent 3.0 and 1.0 hours respectively on these activities. Team sports showed the largest gender gap, with men spending twice as long as women. Running was the only activity where women spent more time than men, at 3.0 hours compared with 2.5 hours.
